About us
We are a privately-owned hospital offering 24/7 emergency and critical care and board-certified specialty care to companion animals in New York State's Capital District. Our services include Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. We are adding an anesthesiology service in the Fall of 2024. Our departments are supported by experienced LVTs (including five VTSs), assistants, and client relations specialists. We have an on-site and diverse leadership team and a full-service administrative department.
Our area's primary care veterinarians are accustomed to referral medicine and value our specialist's expertise. Our referral base serves upstate and western New York, the Mid-Hudson Valley, western New England, and beyond.

Our facility
Our hospital is a custom-built, 40,000-square-foot facility. Our surgery department has two dedicated exam rooms for client consultation and a workroom for diagnostic evaluations. Our surgery suite has two surgical prep areas, central sterilization, five operating rooms including orthopedics/MIS, soft tissue, emergency, ophthalmology, and neurosurgery, and a dedicated recovery room. Surgery is located adjacent to diagnostic imaging suites and has easy access to treatment/ICU.
Our Surgeons have access to the following equipment:
- Digital X-ray with wall-mounted viewing in each suite
- Fluoroscopy suite with OEC 9800 C-arm fluoroscope
- VetClarity Mobile DR for intraop usage
- LigaSure system with Force Triad base
- Thoracoscopy, Laparoscopy & Arthroscopy – 4K capabilities coupled with a 32” LED monitor
- Buffalo Surgical Smoke Evacuators
- Wound vacuum, CUSA Tissue ablation, Orthopedic planning software
- KYON Fine Touch Orthopedic Instrumentation
- TPLO and TTA equipment, NGD Semi-Cylindrical Recession Trochleoplasty (SCRT) kit, deSoutter Vdrive power system
Additional advanced imaging modalities include:
- 64-slice Toshiba CT scanner with power injector
- Two abdominal ultrasound suites
- Digital radiography utilizing Asteris PACS
- 1.5T Siemens MRI
Any additional equipment necessary for a state-of-the-art Orthopedic and Soft Tissues Surgery practice will be considered.
A 24/7 ICU supports the service with three criticalists, and two hospitalists. Our ICU has a full in-house laboratory, a dedicated pharmacy staff, and a canine/feline blood bank.
