Several specialty services are housed in the hospital and include internal medicine, oncology, emergency and critical care, and radiology offering ultrasound, echocardiography, and CT services (Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging, www.ievetimaging.com). Our emergency medicine department medical staff includes a board-certified criticalist and an abundance of fully trained support staff (licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, kennel attendants and a full reception core). The emergency department is open 24/7/365. We work closely with and highly value our referring general practice veterinarians in the community. The hospital has an in-house diagnostic lab, digital radiography and ultrasound. Access to specialist ultrasound, CT, and flexible/rigid endoscopy is available on weekdays. We also have an on-site blood bank. The Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center is located within a recently constructed facility that won the 2017 VetEcon/360 Design Award for Specialty Hospital of the Year.

One of Idaho's premier resorts (Coeur d'Alene) is located just across the border from Washington. Spokane boasts four beautiful seasons with less than 17 inches of precipitation per year. There are plenty of outdoor amenities including skiing (5 resorts within 2 hours drive), hiking, biking, and water sports. Spokane is home to numerous cultural events including the symphony, Broadway plays, concerts and festivals. Spokane is also home to multiple colleges/universities (Gonzaga, Whitworth and Eastern Washington) and is located just 75 miles north of Washington State University in Pullman. The Pet Emergency Clinic was founded in 1977 by a group of local practitioners seeking to provide a solution for their clients for weekend and overnight emergencies. In September 2020, the Pet Emergency Clinic & Referral Center became the only 24/7/365 emergency/specialty private practice in the Inland Northwest, serving patients from 4 states and 2 provinces, including Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, British Columbia, and Alberta.
