- Equine Surgery - Clinical or Tenure Assistant/Associate Professor/ Professor
Description
The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University invites applications for an assistant, associate, or full professor (clinical or tenure track) in Equine Surgery. The qualified person will join a dedicated team of equine medicine, surgery, field service, reproduction and large animal emergency medicine faculty members. In addition, each of the service areas have great support staff to fulfill the mission of quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate must provide didactic and clinical instruction in equine surgery for veterinary students, interns, and residents, and must maintain a high-quality equine clinical service with a demonstrated commitment to building caseload and providing exceptional service and client communication. The clinical service will focus primarily on daytime duties, as a large animal emergency team will cover a majority of after-hours calls. Candidates will be expected to participate in research and scholarship leading to publications that are relevant to equine surgery. The balance of clinical, teaching, and research components in the appointment are negotiable depending on the professional goals of the candidate and the needs of the DCS/VHC. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications. The start date is negotiable.

Requirements
Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and advanced training in Equine Surgery. Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons is a required qualification. Diplomates of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons will also be considered. Candidates with other advanced academic qualifications (including interests in equine sports medicine) are encouraged to apply.
