South Eastern Equine Hospital is a privately owned specialist equine referral and ambulatory practice located within 45 minutes of Melbourne, providing advanced surgical, medical, sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, and emergency services to a diverse equine population.
Located in Melbourne's south-east, you'll enjoy access to world-class equestrian facilities, beaches, wineries, national parks and everything Melbourne has to offer.
Our team consists of specialists and consultants in surgery, medicine, anaesthesia and ophthalmology, supported by a team of 5 senior associates, 3 interns and 6 experienced equine nurses. Our core team values are collaboration, community, communication and excellence. We are seeking someone with these values to join us for the next chapter of our journey.
We are looking for a Specialist Equine Surgeon with a strong interest in Sports Medicine and Lameness, or a dual-trained clinician, to join our referral team.

Requirements
About You
- Veterinary registration (or eligibility) in Australia
- Board certification or specialist registration in Equine Surgery (or equivalent)
- You are passionate about providing the highest level of care for all horses
- Strong skills in equine lameness diagnostics and sports medicine
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- You are someone who enjoys being part of a team and values collegiality and fun in the workplace
The Role
- Accept elective and emergency surgical procedures
- Advanced lameness and diagnostic skills
- Participation in a shared specialist on-call roster
- Mentoring interns, contributing to journal club and being part of the clinical development of the hospital
